Preventative Maintenance Program Development Internship

Location: Remington, IN (hybrid – remote with biweekly in-person meetings)

Hours: 10-15 hours/week during the school year

Start Date: Fall 2025

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated intern to assist in the development of a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program for our equipment and facilities. This role is ideal for students who want to gain real-world experience in applying mechanical knowledge to agriculture and equipment management while building resources that will directly support our operations year-round.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Research maintenance processes for a variety of agricultural and industrial equipment.
  • Review equipment owner’s manuals and other company documentation to formulate procedures that align with Remington’s processes.
  • Develop step-by-step maintenance guides that will be used across our locations.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure guides are clear, accurate, and practical for everyday use.
  • Participate in biweekly in-person meetings at our Remington office to review progress and gather feedback.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Agricultural Systems, Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and interest in equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to translate technical information into clear, user-friendly guides.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Interest in the agriculture industry and a desire to pursue a career in the field after graduation.

 

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Prior experience with seed production or agricultural operations.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance best practices.
